› INBioparque opened the World of Mushrooms

INBioparque opened a new station-laboratory called "The World of Mushrooms", which aims to promote sustainable production and management of edible mushrooms.
Inside the trunk-like station, the visitors have the opportunity to learn about the production of mushrooms
The construction of this laboratory is part of a project of the Programme for the South-South Cooperation (PSC), funded by the Kingdom of the Netherlands and with the participation of Costa Rica, Benin and Bhutan. In this project the contribution of PSC is $1.000.000.
Mrs. Milagro Mata, Director of the Mushroom Division of INBio, explained that researches from Bhutan gave training in the sustainable production of different species of mushrooms, to three communities located in Cerro de la Muerte. Costa Rica have around 2500 species of mushrooms.
