› Minister for Development Cooperation of the Netherlands visits Bhutan

H.E. Mr. Bert Koenders, Minister for Development Cooperation of the Netherlands conducted an official visit to Bhutan from 7th to 9th July, 2009. His Excellency was accompanied by an eight member delegation which included H.E Bob Hiensch, Ambassador of the Netherlands to Bhutan.
While in Bhutan, H. E. Mr. Koender called on the Hon’ble Prime Minister Lyonchhen Jigmi Y. Thinley, Foreign Minister Lyonpo Ugyen Tshering, and Finance Minister Lyonpo Wangdi Norbu.
The delegation also had the opportunity to visit a project (Bhutan-Costa Rica Cooperation on Development of Organic Soap -20-B-08) supported under the Program for South-South Cooperation and hold discussions with the implementers.
During his visit, a lunch was hosted by the Chairman of the Board of Sustainable Development in his honor.
