2010-06-11

First commercial production of soap in Bhutan Over a period of two weeks many trials were conducted in the Bio Bhutan office on making soap that is suitable for the newly arrived soap making machine. After at least 8 rounds of making different types of soaps with different formulas and processing methods, it was finally possible to create the correct type of soap mould suitable to be cut by the cutting machine. Hence, production of the first commercial batch of soaps have been initiated in the Bio Bhutan office. 3 of the 9 soap making trainees from the Lemon Grass Cooperative are currently being given “on the job” training for making soap on a commercial scale by Bio Bhutan employees.
